Hi All,
Our third major Slide2Learn event is less than 2 weeks away and the excitement on the part of the S2L team is palpable. Dozens of emails, tweets and messages are going back and forward each day as we settle the details of this huge event.
This year we have another wonderful venue in Albert Park College, another incredible group of inspiring keynote speakers and the pleasure of Tony Vincent all the way from across the pond (US) and in person again. We…

Craig Kerwin said… Thanks, Kate. That would be great to catch up with your LOTE teacher. Who is she? Is she on Slide 2 Learn? Then we can catch up a bit later in term - 3 or 4 weeks in maybe.
I've registered for the conference now - we've included some PD in the grant application, so hopefully the boss will ok it.
Just quickly - what's the best way/place to buy i-pod touches. Looking at 25.
Hi Kate,
Wow, that would be awesome to catch up with you. I am a raw beginner at this. We had a guy from LEQ (Derek Bartels - do you know him?) come to school last year and tell us about usages of i-pod touches and I could see the possibilities for language learning (I'm a Japanese teacher) and although the school as a whole voted not to go the i-pod touch way, I wanted to give it a go, and so applied for a NALSSP grant for a Pocket Language Labs program, and much to my surprise, got it! So now I need to learn fast! We have the money to purchase the i-pods, but I'm not sure of the best way to manage them- or even the most cost effective way to purchase. I had a look at your powerpoint presentation and it looks like you might have a few clues in that respect. :)
I only saw there was a conference this evening as I've been on, so I'll have to sort myself out to go. Here's hoping! In the meantime, I know the beginning of school is a busy time, but would you have some time to meet? I would love to see what you're doing at Hambledon, and would love to get some advice.
