Good idea. You will be able to transfer them to your Air while away, too. And don't forget - you can tether your iPad to an iPhone 4 (do you have iPhone 4?) or, create your own wireless network using your Air and you phoner, so you can get Internet on your iPad, if needed.

With any luck, Apple will just give you wifi access!

I just read on ehow.com (how to transfer an iPhone backup from one computer to another) that you can backup just by plugging your iPhone into a new computer and ensuring that you choose to back up prior to restoring. This will retain all of your personal data, but not apps or music library. You would need to do what I suggested before to get all your apps on, and do the same with music, if you want some.

As long as you keep a backup on your Pro, you will be able to do the same again, if you want to go back to your Pro as you syncing device.

With all the fuss, I'd just take the Pro!

No. You need to transfer to the Air from your MacBook. You can only transfer from iPad/pod to computer if you purchase on the iPad/pod.

Just find all your apps (HOME FOLDER-MUSIC-ITUNES-MOBILE APPLICATIONS) and copy to USB drive, then drag into iTunes on MB Air.

Choose AUTHORIZE under the STO menu in iTunes and Enter your iTunes account details.

You can then sync with this computer, but it will need to do a restore first, thus wiping all your other data... This is not a good way to go!

Maybe you can copy a backup file from your Pro to your Air... I'm checking this Out, now.
