We will be offering optional accommodation options with Rydges Cairns Esplanade  when you purchase your event tickets.  More specific details about the accommodation offerings are available on the event registration page.


Slide2Learn has it's own free app.  The app has been specifically developed to support the Slide2Learn conference each year. It is updated before the conference and regularly updated in the days before the conference.  The app can be found on the iTunes Store for both iPad and iPhone. 

The apps required for your workshops will be listed on this site in the week before the event. Please download these apps prior to attending.

Bus Transfers to venue

Slide2Learn is offering bus transfers to assist conference delegates.  Each day we will be running a return bus service from a central Cairns location to the venue, which is approximately 12km outside the city centre. 

Delegates may purchase these subsidised bus transfers ($15 per day inc GST) when they purchase their conference tickets.  Specific details about pickup/drop off points will be forwarded prior to the event.

At this point, it is expected that the bus will leave Cairns City in time to arrive at St Andrew's Catholic College by 8 am on both days.

The bus is expected to leave the College for Cairns City at 6 pm (during the Social Event) on Tuesday the 5th of July and at 4:30 pm on Wednesday 6th of July.


All cancellations must be made in writing to Iceberg Events.

A refund of registration fees will be made on all cancellations received before 29 June 2016 less a $80 processing fee.  Cancellations received after this date will receive no refund; however, substitute delegates are permitted at any time.

Bus fares are non-refundable. 

Accommodation cancellations may or may not incur fees, it is dependent on the hotel's policies.

Full registration includes attendance at both days of the conference (5 and 6 July), an excursion as well as the social event on the evening of 5 July.

It is highly recommended that attendees register for two days, as there will be strong links between the sessions on both days.

Dietary Requirements

Good food is part of the Slide2Learn ethos.  We want to make sure you are happy with what we offer for you to eat.  If you have special dietary requirements that we need to cater for please make sure you mention this when you initially book your ticket.  If you have not mentioned your dietary needs when you initially booked please contact Iceberg events.

iPad only?

Slide2Learn focuses on mobile learning best practice.  The pedagogies offered in workshops are generally applicable across most mobile device platforms.  The platform most heavily supported at Slide2Learn events is iOS.  Presenters will be focused on the use of iPad and other iOS devices in their workshops.


There is plenty of parking available at St Andrew’s Catholic College.  Participants with parking will find parking down past the administration block in the staff parking area.  Please see the attached map.

For the excursion (a hat, sunscreen, comfortable shoes and a water bottle)


Please note that registration opens each day at 8.00 am.  All delegates are expected to register on each day.

The first session will begin at 8:30 am  sharp. 

Session Selection

A full conference program will be published closer to the event.   At that time an email will be sent to you that includes a link to online workshop registration.  Past experience shows us that you will probably want to get in early to make your workshop choices as some workshops fill up very quickly.

Social Event

A social event will be held on the evening of the Tuesday 5 July.  Participants are encouraged to stay on after the final session on Tuesday afternoon and join us for nibbles and drinks from 4:45 pm - 6:30 pm. Cost is included in your registration fee.

Please note - if you are using Slide2Learn bus transfers the bus will depart the College at 6 pm.
